SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method for determining the hardness and the strength parameters of any material medium through the general physical parameters: ϕ° the internal friction angle and the specific cohesion C (MPa). According to the proposed method, the angle for the solid nonporous medium ϕ°= arccos [(D/2-So)/(D/2)] and the specific adhesion C=(σt/2)(1+sinϕ°)/cosϕ° (MPa) are determined, and the angle ϕ° and the specific cohesion C (MPa) for the porous disperse material medium are determined according to the law of Sh. Mohr-Coulomb τi=pitgϕ°+C, and the hardness of any material medium is defined as .
