FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: package (10) for smoking products includes the front wall (13) and the rear wall (14) joined by opposing side walls. The package consists of the box (11) having an open butt and the folding cover (12) connected to the box by the fold line (19) on the rear package wall and movable for opening or closing the open butt. The cover includes the front wall, the top wall, the rear wall and the first and the second opposing side walls. At least part of the lower edge of the front cover wall is arranged horizontally and parallel to the fold line (19). The angle between the rear wall and the oblique cut, defined where the lower edge of the first side wall of the cover is bordered by the upper box edge on the first side wall of the package is larger than the corresponding angle between the rear wall and the respective oblique cut defined where the lower edge of the second sidewall is bordered with the upper edge of the box on the second opposing side wall of the package (10). The method of manufacturing such a package (10) is described as well.
