FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used in synchronous generators. The method of spatial separation of the magnetic flows in electric machines is characterized in that part of the main magnetic circuit of the machine (rotor or stator) is created with small magnetic resistance for the main magnetic excitation flow and is broken into several identical magnetic areas that are alternated with additional magnetic areas with large magnetic resistance for the main magnetic excitation flow. Then the rotor is set in motion relative to the stator, and induction EMF and induction current are created in generator windings short-circuited on the load. The induction current creates the secondary magnetic flow. The lines of force of the secondary magnetic flow pass through and are concentrated in additional magnetic circuits with the maximum magnetic permeability.
EFFECT: invention provides the reduction of the rotor resistance to rotation from the prime motor as a result of the spatial separation of the primary and secondary magnetic flows and thereby reducing the degree of their interaction.
