SUBSTANCE: method contains the steps at which: the image is filtered to obtain the intensity edge value for each pixel point in the image; the value in terms of attracting attention to the spatial position of each pixel point in the image is calculated; the value of the information distribution of each pixel point in the image is calculated; the searches are performed with a smooth movement of the image; for a rectangular field in each item in order to search for a smoother movement, the value of information sharing of the pixel points in the rectangular box in order to obtain the value of the information distribution in the rectangular box, is summed up; a rectangular field with the greatest amount of the information distribution value is chosen and the image content is intercepted, corresponding to the selected rectangular field in order to obtain the thumbnail image.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of positioning the thumbnails.
