FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: unit for thermal processing of cold reducing tube mill working roll comprises a lined heating chamber (1) longitudinally disassembled along a vertical plane, high-speed burners (2), a sprayer (3), a lifting and lowering mechanism (4), a frame (5), a mechanism (6) of the heating chamber (1) releasable parts lateral motion. The unit is equipped with a pit (7) located under the base of the heating chamber (1) and protective rotary screens (8) to block the pit (7) and isolate it and the sprayer device (3) located in it from the heating chamber (1). The heating chamber (1) is provided with a recuperator (10). The sprayer (3) comprises water-air nozzles (14) arranged in two rows along the roll (13) and protective curtains (15). The heating chamber (1) is provided with frontal sealing inserts (16). A method of thermal processing of cold reducing tube mill working rolls includes automatic disconnecting and connecting of heating chamber detachable parts horizontally transversely with respect to the roll axis, the sprayer positioning in the heating chamber pit, and isolating it from the latter. In this case, after heating the rolls, they are automatically lifted up into the working position of the roll cooling.

EFFECT: increase of efficiency and economy by increasing the productivity and quality of rolls thermal processing.
