FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in radio receivers of super-heterodyne type for various purposes for expanding the operating frequency range. The frequency converter comprises series-connected input filter, first mixer, the second input of which is connected to the output of the heterodyne, a first summation frequency filter, a second mixer, a first intermediate frequency filter and a first adder, the output of which is the first output of the frequency converter. The output of the first mixer is connected in series to a second intermediate frequency filter and a first +90 phase changer, the output of which is connected to the second input of the first adder, the output of the heterodyne is connected in series to a frequency doubler and a second +90 phase changer, the output of which is connected to the second input of the second mixer. The converter is characterised by that it is provided with a second summation frequency filter, a -90 phase changer, a third mixer, a third intermediate frequency filter and a second adder.

EFFECT: invention widens the operating frequency range without expanding frequency adjustment of the heterodyne by using a receiving image channel.
