FIELD: data processing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of satellite survey. On-board satellite synchronously performs target satellite survey of predetermined areas and survey cloud fields over predetermined areas. Data of satellite survey of cloud fields are processed onboard satellite and are used to estimate coverage of said cloud areas with a feature belonging to a specific given area. Formed estimates are transmitted to ground system network for reception, processing and distribution of satellite information, where their analysis and decision on suitability of data of target satellite survey of specified areas is performed, as well as formation of a list of suitable data of target satellite survey of specified areas and list of unsuitable data of target satellite survey of specified areas. Derived data are used to correct sequence of moments of transmitting data of target satellite survey of specified areas to ground system network for reception, processing and distribution of satellite information. Suitable data are transmitted and unsuitable data are deleted from on-board permanent memory.

EFFECT: high efficiency of target satellite survey of specified areas owing to fewer data of target satellite survey of sea and earth’s surface transmitted over a radio link from satellite, unsuitable for solving application tasks.
