FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves placing a hollow metal cable in the lower layers of the Mars atmosphere with pores on the surface. During the Martian dust storm, the metal cable is charged due to the triboelectric effect. This induces atmospheric spark discharges, leading to the formation of ozone. Through the pores of the cable, nitric acid is released, which stabilises ozone.
EFFECT: possibility of forming ozone protection in the atmosphere of Mars, regardless of the presence of solar UV radiation.
