SUBSTANCE: method includes retrieving from the user device via the network using the server of the product name that the user inputs through the user device, word segmentation peformed by the server in the product name to get a set of keywords containing the keywords included in the product name, and definition by server of product name category in accordance with the set of keywords and pre-configured product category recognition model. This step includes: searching the first table in the product category recognition model in order to obtain a set of category paths that may contain a set of keywords, in which the first table contains the correspondence between the number of category paths and keywords number, as well as the calculated value of occurrences number of each of the keywords plurality at each respective category path, calculation of the calculated integral value for each category path from the set of category paths, respectively, and category path selection with the highest value of the calculated integral value as the product name category path.

EFFECT: improved accuracy of category path recognition.
