FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: melt of iron-bearing materials with the temperature of 1300-1500°C, with FeO content in the range of 35-80% from the total content of the iron oxides in the slag, the ratio CaO/SiO2 0.8-1.4 and viscosity 0.2-1 Pa⋅s, prelimenary prepared in the additional furnace, supply into the Romelt furnace slag bath. Also the carbon material is supplied in the amount that provides the residual content of FeO in the slag at the level of 1.5-6.0%, energy carriers for slag bubbling and oxygen above the slag bath for afterburning. The additional furnace is of bubbling type with the liquid slag bath or the electric furnace. The Romelt furnace and the auxiliary furnace are connected between each other by the trough.
EFFECT: invention allows to dispose the iron bearing wastes without preliminary preparation, to increase the recovery rate of the iron oxides, to reduce the iron losses with slag and to exclude the possibility of the slag bath uncontrolled boiling.
