FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: multiphase flow separation system includes an inlet line configured to allow multiphase fluid passage into the multiphase flow separation system, a distribution manifold configured to separate the multiphase fluid flow into multiple tubes. The inlet line includes a number of branched pipe sections adapted to reduce the multiphase fluid flow velocity and multiphase fluid flow feeding into the distribution manifold. Each of several pipes contains an expansion zone forming a part of each of several pipes, and is located upstream from the respective vertical drain pipe. Several pipes are in the same plane as the distribution manifold. The expansion zone is configured to reduce the pressure within the several pipes to ensure the release of the entrapped fluids from the upper several pipes through the respective vertical drain pipe. Each expansion zone is located upstream of the top and bottom of the comb pipe and is arranged to reduce the multiphase fluid pressure before multiphase fluid separation to the upper comb pipe and the lower comb pipe. Each upper comb pipe is introduced into the respective upper pipes, which are arranged above the plane of the distribution manifold. Each lower comb pipe is introduced into the corresponding lower pipe, each upper pipe is connected to the corresponding lower pipe with a respective vertical drain pipe. Each upper pipe is adapted to ensure the entrapped fluid release in a corresponding lower pipe through the vertical drain pipe.
EFFECT: separation provision at high depths.
