FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: device comprises a therapeutic element incuding a portion through which the injection is performed into the tissue using a catheter or a syringe. The therapeutic element is adapted to provide therapy near the injection site to alter the pharmacokinetic and/or pharmacodynamic profile of the injectate. The said therapy may be a temperature change, optical radiation, electromagnetic radiation, mechanical vibration, etc. The device also includes a sensor configured to detect therapeutic substance injection, and a controller configured to communicate with the therapeutic component and to start therapy when the sensor detects the start of substance injection.
EFFECT: device provides predetermined therapeutic agent delivery to the patient by controlling the pharmacokinetic and/or pharmacodynamic profile of injectate.
