SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of aviation, in particular to the structure and methods of controlling the helicopters. The helicopter autopilot system includes an inner loop for maintaining the spatial position of helicopter flight, which includes a predetermined level of redundancy, applied to the inner loop. The outer loop is adapted for providing navigation function with respect to the helicopter flight, which includes another level of redundancy than the level of redundancy of the inner loop. The drive element applies braking force to the joint that is used to stabilize the helicopter flight at the time of failure in flight. The drive element is electromechanical and receives signals of the electric drive for providing automatic helicopter flight control without the need for an auxiliary hydraulic system in the helicopter. The autopilot can control the helicopter in the mode of the hydraulic auxiliary system failure. The plurality of flight modes is described with the corresponding input sensor signals, which include speed-based signals, and with three modes of spatial position.
EFFECT: invention provides the ability to create simplified automated control systems for light helicopters.
