SUBSTANCE: method comprises nitric acid neutralisation by ammonia gas, with nitric acid and ammonia fed into the top of the enclosure where the ammonia gas is fed via a nozzle into the beaker, and the nitric acid is fed via the circulation loop to the plate. The device comprises a housing with a gas stream output nozzle with a beaker located inside the housing, a circulation circuit including a suction pipe, a pump and a discharge line, which comprises a fitting for withdrawal of the ammonium nitrate solution downstream of the pump and upstream of the nitric acid mixer, and a nitric acid mixer with a nitric acid feeding nozzle. The housing is cylindrical. The upper part of the housing contains a plate with a shell in the center, and a beaker placed in the shell. The beaker side surface is made plates forming tangential slots. The housing top has a nozzle for ammonia gas feeding to the beaker, while the discharge line is connected to the housing side above the plate, the gas stream outlet is located in the housing side below the plate, and the suction pipe is connected to the housing bottom.

EFFECT: increased productivity and reduced content of ammonium nitrate and nitric acid in the effluent gas stream.
