FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: an electromagnetic current meter comprises of a non-magnetic housing in which a magnetic unit of two pairs of permanent magnets with alternating polarity is installed (the poles of the magnets have lugs of soft magnetic material fixed on them), several pairs of electrodes mounted on the housing. Moreover, the meters consists of an inductance coil located at a specified distance from the magnets of the magnetic unit, where the axis of the coil is parallel to the rotation axis of the magnetic unit and lies on the circle, formed by the rotation about the geometrical axle of the magnet of the magnetic unit, and is connected to an electronic unit providing alternating movement of the magnetic unit with a predetermined frequency at a predetermined angle. The meter also includes at least one pair of additional permanent magnets mounted at a predetermined distance from the magnets of the magnetic unit, where each pair is perpendicular to the rotation axis of the magnetic unit and one of the magnets in each pair is rigidly fixed in the housing and the other one is on the rotation axis of the magnetic unit.

EFFECT: increased duration of autonomous operation and meter life and increase the life of the meter, while maintaining improved metrological and operational characteristics.
