FIELD: physics, measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metrology and specifically to means of obtaining pure bending of a reference beam for testing strain gauges. The apparatus comprises a base, a constant-cross section reference beam with a deformation measuring system and a beam loading mechanical system, which includes two symmetrically arranged levers, pivotally connected to a propulsor. In each lever above and below the reference beam there are four paired reference rollers, between the rollers and the reference beam, as well as above and below said beam, there are cushion plates with semi-cylindrical protrusions on opposite edges, in contact with the reference beam directly on the edges of the cylindrical surfaces of said protrusions. The normal at points of contact between the rollers and the flat surface of the cushion plates passes through the point of contact between the reference beam and the cylindrical protrusion of the cushion plates. The levers are installed horizontally and are pivotally connected to the base through two symmetrically arranged piston-rods, and are also pivotally connected to each other and to the propulsor through a yoke, pivotally connected by its centre of symmetry to a sliding member, kinematically linked with a vertical guide and with the propulsor.

EFFECT: invention is characterised by a wider range of curvature of the reference beam, significantly smaller dimensions of the device with significantly less weight of the structure, reduced forces applied to obtain the required deformation while maintaining high accuracy of measuring deformations.
