FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method for determining the intensity of oxidation processes of lubricating oils includes heating the sample of the test lubricating oil of constant weight, mixing, photometering, determining the absorption coefficient of the light flux by oxidized lubricating oil, and evaporating by weighing before and after the test. Then, graphical dependencies are plotted, along which the parameters of oxidation processes are determined. Herewith the samples of the constant-weight lubricating oil are thermostated minimum at three temperatures with stirring, after the fixed constant time, the oxidized lubricating oil sample is weighed, the mass of the evaporated oil and the evaporation coefficient are determined as the ratio of the evaporated oil mass to the sample mass before the test. Then, a portion of the oxidized sample is selected for photometering and determining the absorption coefficient of the light flux. Then, from the obtained data of the absorption coefficient of the light flux and the evaporation coefficient, the thermooxidative stability index is determined as their sum, the increment of the thermooxidative stability index change rate is determined as a quotient of the increment in the thermooxidative stability index for a fixed constant time by this oxidation time. After that, graphical index dependencies of the thermooxidative stability and increment of its change rate on the oxidation time and increment of the thermooxidative stability index change rate on the absorption coefficient of the light flux are plotted, which determine the intensity of oxidation processes from the oxidation time, the absorption coefficient of the light flux and the oxidation temperature.
EFFECT: increasing the informative nature of the method due to the evaluation of the prouct oxidation effect on the intensity of oxidation processes.
