FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: catalyst for producing synthesis gas from methane is obtained on the basis of a ceramic carrier coated with alumina and VIII group metals. The catalyst is characterized in that the catalyst carrier is a ceramic block made in the form of a hollow cylindrical element (tube) with a pore size of 3-1000 mcm. The carrier is impregnated with an aqueous solution of aluminium nitrate, dried at 80-90°C and calcined in air at 500°C to form on the carrier surface a phase γ-Al2O3 (lining stage), and then palladium or platinum from aqueous solutions of complex salts H2PdCl4 or H2PtCl6 with pH=2 are applied by the carrier penetration method by moisture capacity, wherein the concentration of alumina in the catalyst is 1-2% by weight, and the concentration of metallic platinum or palladium is 0.2-0.5% by weight. The method for producing the synthesis gas from methane is carried out in the presence of the catalyst described above. The process of methane conversion is carried out in a flow reactor at atmospheric pressure by contacting the catalyst heated with an electric coil up to 700-800°C with methane-air or methane-oxygen gas mixtures with a molar ratio of oxygen/methane in the range of 0.45-0.55 at a volume flow rate of the gas mixture in the range of 5000-20000 h-1.
EFFECT: process practically does not cause soot formation, provides a higher total content of carbon and hydrogen oxide.
