FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: electromagnetic multi-sector flaw detector contains a cylindrical non-magnetic housing, an electronics unit with the ability to digitize and register analog signals, a measuring probe consisting of a generator, excited by feeding periodic pulses of voltage with a predetermined duration, and a receiving coil with a single core. The axis of the measuring probe coincides with the axis of the housing, it contains a magnetic measuring block having at least twelve sensors sensitive only to a change in the direction of the magnetic field and uniformly located along the perimeter of a circle lying in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the probe and adjacent to its end, the circle coincides with the axis of the measuring probe.

EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of measuring the thickness of casing strings and tubing, increasing the reliability of detection of defects in them.
