FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: present invention is intended for manufacturing soft tent-shaped shells having the smooth double negative surface curvature. The solution is based on the ability of film-fabric materials to cover limited areas of curved surfaces without wrinkling due to the transformation of the reinforcing base - textile or mesh. The feature of the shaping process proposed, distinguishing it from the others, is to create an awning shell having the rotation surface shape of negative curvature from the limited set of large-sized flat cutting elements of two standard sizes. After mounting, said elements take the form of saddle-like surfaces due to the above awning material properties. The boundaries and axes of the saddle areas are directed along the shortest lines on the surface. The parameters of the beginning, the end and the direction of these lines are determined by the tent cutting scheme. The flat contours of the cutting elements can be obtained by the method of applying Chebyshev nets on the saddle areas, with the subsequent scanning the nets onto a plane. When applying, the Chebyshev nets axes are aligned with the axes of the saddle areas on the tent surface.
EFFECT: method allows to save material due to waste reduction, improves the shell design and improves the shape stability under external influences due to natural biaxial stress at shaping.
