The brake assembly (14a; 14b; 14c) has a control element (26a, 28a, 30a; 26b, 28b, 30b; 26c, 28c, 30c) for moving the brake operable brake member (16a, 18a, 20a; 16b, 18b; 16c, 18c, 20c) substantially perpendicular to the axis (32a; 32b, 32c) of the driven rotation member (24a; 24b; 24c).
