FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes preliminary drying of nickel ore, annealing of nickel ore in a tubular rotary kiln, continuous charging of the resulting cinder to the bottom of the Vanyukov's furnace including melting and reducing zones and a siphon, melting the cinder in the melting zone of the furnace, transferring the resulting melt to the reducing zone of the furnace and siphoning, the production of the resulting slag and the release of the ferronickel melt from the furnace to the ladle. In this case, the ferro-nickel melt is heated on the bottom of the furnace by means of electric heaters installed in the bottom under water-cooled partitions located between the melting and reducing zones and between the reducing zone and the siphon.
EFFECT: ensuring the production of ferronickel in liquid form during the processing of oxidized nickel ores in the Vanyukov's furnace with a continuous process, ensuring the comprehensive extraction of useful components from nickel ore.
