FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: process involves reacting activated aluminium with isopropanol when heating in presence of aluminium chloride, followed with purification of the desired product. The reaction of activated aluminium with isopropanol is carried out in a molar ratio of 1:3, aluminium is preliminarily activated by electrolysis of aluminium mixture and aluminium chloride solution in isopropanol (about 15% of the total isopropanol volume) using aluminium electrodes and the product is purified with vacuum rectification.
EFFECT: method allows to use isopropanol with low water content and obtain the desired product with high content of the basic substance.
