SUBSTANCE: in the method for regulating gas turbines, including real-time rotation speed measurement of the rotor of the gas turbine generator, comparing the current value of the speed with the set values of each of the stages of technological protection of the gas turbine and generating protective signals, if a reduction in the speed of rotation is detected before the setting of one of the process protection stages start counting the time for this stage. In case of exceeding the speed of the setpoint value of this stage within a set time delay for its operation, the time count is stopped. Continuing to count down the time for steps with higher frequency settings. If there is no excess of the speed of the set-point value of this stage for a given time delay, a protective signal of this stage is formed to transfer the gas turbine from the power-maintaining mode with frequency correction to the speed control mode and to disconnect the generator from the network.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the reliability and survivability of a power plant by improving the reliability of gas turbines while deepening frequency drops in the power system.
