SUBSTANCE: braking device for a three-phase brushless motor in accordance with one aspect of the present invention is provided in an electric-powered tool and includes a switching circuit having six switching elements and a brake control device. The braking control device performs the short-circuit control of the two phases in the braking control, in which the braking force is generated in the motor. In the short-circuit control of the two phases, the on/off state of each of the switching elements is set such that two of the three conductivity circuits constituting one of the conductivity side of the positive electrode side that connects the three motor contacts and the positive electrode side of the power supply source current and the conductivity circuit of the negative electrode side that connects the three contacts and the side of the negative electrode of the power source are in a conducting state and the other of the three conductivity circuits is in a non-conducting state.
EFFECT: ensuring reliability when braking the tool driven by a brushless motor.
