FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: catalyst for isobutane dehydrogenation obtained by impregnating nanostructured zirconium oxide with an aqueous solution of CrO3, the catalyst further contains soluble potassium and/or sodium salts, with subsequent drying at 95-120°C and calcination at 600°C, the catalyst is characterised in that the content of chromium oxide in the catalyst is not more than 6 wt % on Cr2O3 basis. A method for isobutane dehydrogenation is also disclosed.

EFFECT: catalyst is characterized in high catalytic properties over a wide temperature range with a low chromium oxide content.
