FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst for the dehydrogenation of light paraffin hydrocarbons, comprising a support comprising aluminum oxide, which is in form of a chi-phase with a disordered structure, and a compound of chromium, alkali metals, silicon, at least one transition metal compound (Me) from: iron, copper, zinc, tin in combination with zirconium and hafnium compounds at a weight ratio Hf+Zr:Me = 1:0.01–1. Catalyst is formed during thermal activation of carrier together with compounds of said elements and has composition (in terms of oxide), wt%: chromium oxide (in terms of Cr2O3) 9–25, sum of sodium and potassium oxides 0.5–2, silicon oxide 0.01–5, sum of iron and / or copper oxides and / or zinc and / or tin, in combination with zirconium and hafnium 0.1–6, aluminum oxide – balance.
EFFECT: obtained catalysts have higher activity and selectivity during dehydrogenation of paraffin hydrocarbons C3-C5 and reduced coke formation.
