FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of testing radar stations (RS), in particular to the designs of calibration and reference reflectors (RR), and can be used to assess the characteristics and quality of the RS. The device contains a spherical reference radiation reflector. The sphere consists of two halves, structurally fastened together, and is made of wire or tubes of design diameter d in the form of a grid with an estimated step b by the formula , where p - the transmittance of radiation in power in dB (p<0), λ - the wavelength of the radiation, and as a carrier, an unmanned aerial vehicle is used, located inside the sphere and attached to it with the aid of end brackets. All parts used in the design of the RR can be made of metal or carbon fiber.
EFFECT: expansion of the functionality of radar stations performance evaluation tools in the part of repeated experiments, providing a reference reflector flight for a given program and, with the use of two reference reflectors, estimating the resolving power in coordinates.
