FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: sealing band includes a plurality of sealing strips adjacent to each other and an overlap area and is installed in opposite slots in the annular gap between the rotatable discs of the turbomachine. Adjacent sealing strips contain opposite end surfaces facing each other. The overlap area is fixed adjacent to the end of at least one sealing strip and extends over the end surface of the adjacent sealing strip along the radially-oriented side of the adjacent sealing strip. The overlap area has a width extending across said gap which is smaller than a sealing strip width. Each sealing strip has a width greater than the width of the annular gap, and the overlap area has a width not greater than the width of the annular gap.
EFFECT: invention allows increasing the service life of sealing bands in a turbomachine.
