FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: mineral oils of various grades and raw glycerin - a waste of biodiesel production containing glycerol, methyl esters of fatty acids and their potassium salts of fatty acids are used as a raw material for production of lubricant. The lubricant is obtained by raw glycerin and mineral oil mixture treatment by calcium chloride in an anhydrous medium at 60-100°C for 4-6 hours, and subsequent separation of the resulting viscous-plastic mass, which is a plastic calcium lubricant, from the liquid glycerin layer.
EFFECT: process simplification using cheap raw materials, utilisation of the main by-product of biodiesel production - raw glycerin.
