FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of monitoring an over-speed protection device for a single-shaft plant comprising a gas turbine, a generator and a steam turbine, comprising the steps of: a) operating a single-shaft plant at its rated speed and under an electrical load connected to the generator. The load is chosen so low that after its discharge speed single-shaft installation increased so that the speed remains below the limit value the steam turbine rotational speed which is lower than the limit value of the gas turbine rotation speed, wherein the protective device is configured so that the first protection is activated, as soon reach its limit value the steam turbine rotational speed, and the second protection is activated as soon as its speed reaches a limit value of gas turbine rotation; b) load shedding; c) increasing the mass flow supplied to the steam turbine, steam and/or fed to fuel gas turbine so that steam turbine speed has reached the limit value; g) switching control of the first protection.
EFFECT: increasing the service life of this unit.
