FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: seed meter for a seeding machine contains a housing and a seed metering element which is rotatably mounted in the housing. The metering element has a base portion and a side wall extending in the axial direction and radially outwardly from the base portion to form a concave inner surface and a convex outer surface. The side wall terminates with the outer edge and has an edge portion adjacent to the outer edge with a plurality of apertures extending through the side wall between the inner and outer surfaces to adhere the seeds to each aperture when a lower air pressure is applied to the outer surface than to the inner surface. The metering element rotates around an axis tilted in a vertical and horizontal direction to move the apertures and adherent seeds along a circular path. Between the adjacent apertures, a protrusion is made extending from the concave inner surface of the side wall and forming an opposing surface following the aperture along the circular path. Wherein the seed metering element is made without depressed cells for seeds.

EFFECT: improved transfer of seeds to the delivery system.
