FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for strengthening earthworks in the heaving soil conditions. The method for strengthening an earthwork includes drilling wells, installing therein reinforcing elements in the form of metal pipes with a closed lower end, filling the pipes with a working material. Strengthening the earthwork is carried out by compacting soil by driving the wells with a pneumodrift. After driving each well and extracting the pneumodrift, metal pipes filled with a non-moisture-absorbing material, with lateral slots staggered along the height of the pipes, are installed in the wells. They are finally immersed with the pneumodrift in the wells into the earthwork base to a depth exceeding the height of freezing soil. The pipes are connected with metal clips and covered with a thermo-insulating material, on top of which a layer of plant soil is laid. The distance between the well centres in a row is determined from the above dependence.
EFFECT: improving the earthwork strengthening efficiency, reducing the labour intensity and the material consumption.
