SUBSTANCE: telectronic device receives preliminary content information and outputs content information relating to the hierarchy from the links between the content information in which the upper layer includes content information similar to at least a portion of the preliminary content information while outputting the content information with the exception of at least part of the content information relating to the intermediate levels of the hierarchy, the electronic device selects at least one part of the output content information, after which the desired content information relating to the hierarchy without at least one alternative sub-hierarchy is output by the electronic device, at least part of the desired content information is output to the upper level of the hierarchy from other levels in order that does not disturb the hierarchy.

EFFECT: provision of an optimized user interface to display information to effectively formulate a search query, reduced time required to search for relevant information, increased efficiency of information retrieval by reducing the amount of information that is not required to receive information displayed on the electronic device during the search, a possibility to refine the search query or modify it in order to obtain additional relevant information.
