FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: turbocharger includes a housing, a flow channel inside the housing, a compressor impeller wheel comprising the main blade and made rotatable for compressing the intake air, as well as stalling annular element on the housing. The annular flow stall element is located in the region of the leading edge of the main blade and communicates only with the flow channel. The leading edge surface of the annular flow stall element is at an angle to the surface of the housing, and the rear edge of the annular flow stall element extends to the central axis of the flow channel from the intersection of the front and rear edges. In another version, the annular flow stall element is located in the region of the leading edge of the main blade and downstream of the housing portion parallel to the central axis of the housing. The leading edge surface of the annular flow stall element is angled with a housing portion parallel to the central axis of the housing and located upstream of the annular flow stall element, and the rear edge of the annular flow stall element is angled to the central axis of the housing. The rear edge of the annular flow stall element is located on one line in the axial direction with the leading edge of the main blade. In another version, the annular flow stall element is located in the leading edge region of the main blade, and the leading edge surface of the annular flow stall element at an angle to the surface of the housing that is located upstream of the annular flow stall element. The rear edge of the annular flow stall element is axially aligned with the leading edge of the main blade adjacent to the leading edge surface of the annular flow stall element and extends to the central axis of the flow passage from the intersection location of the leading and rear edge surfaces.
EFFECT: turbocharger compressor noise reduction over a wide frequency range without significant effect on flow characteristics.
