SUBSTANCE: cooling system includes a pump for cooling medium that circulates the cooling medium in the cooling system; a hydrodynamic retarder having a shrouded pump wheel and a bladed turbine wheel that together form a working fluid filled with the working medium and a main circuit, in which the cooling medium pump and the drive motor of the trackless vehicle or other cooling unit by the cooling medium are positioned, as well as a heat exchanger for removing the heat of the cooling medium obtained from the driving motor or the said other unit. The cooling medium pump pumps the cooling medium in the main circuit. The hydrodynamic retarder is located in the lateral branch of the cooling system, which contains a supply that leaves the main circuit at the branch site and enters the hydrodynamic retarder, and a drain that leaves the hydrodynamic retarder and enters the main circuit at the entry site. The drain, when viewed in the direction of the cooling medium flow in the main circuit, enters the main circuit in front of the supply branch site, but on the same side of the cooling medium pump or at the supply branch site.
EFFECT: reducing the losses in the system.
