FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: linear asynchronous motor comprises two autonomous frequency converters and the linear asynchronous motor consisting of two opposite inductors with electrically independent working windings and non-magnetic secondary element placed in a gap between the inductors. The working winding of one of the inductors is connected to one frequency converter, and the working winding of the opposite inductor is connected to second frequency converter. The frequency converters have a controlled phase shift of load currents of identical phases of the opposite inductors.

EFFECT: providing the possibility for reducing the weight of electric drive for accelerating before given rate at a limited length due to inertia-free increase of tractive effort from zero to maximum value.
