FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: in the method for identification of target object on a Web page that is associated with the rendering instructions for rendering Web pages on a Web page, rendering instructions are received associated with a Web page. The candidate for the target object is identified among the elements of the Web pages and rendering on the screen of the electronic device of the Web page is performed based on the rendering instructions. Verification is performed to confirm that the candidate for the target object is the target object. During verification process a set of predefined rules is used, based on the characteristics of the rendered target object to the rendered version of the candidate to the target object. The value of the characteristics of rendered object is determined and each rule in a set of predefined rules with the characteristic value of the rendered object is checked. Probability parameter of that the candidate for the target object is a target object is assigned, wherein the probability parameter is based on the result of checking each rule.
