FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: cartridge of increased penetration includes a sleeve with an igniting primer, propellant powder charge, a bullet containing a cladding, a carbide core and a lead jacket. In this case, the carbide core has a head part made in the form of conjugated straight and truncated cones, and a tail part made in the form of a truncated cone. The core is located from the top of the bullet at a distance (1.1-1.3) d, where d is the calibre of the bullet, and with the stop of the larger base of the truncated cone of its head part on the inner surface of the head part of the shell. The angle of the straight cone generatrices of the head part of the core is from 121 to 130°. Between the inner surface of the shell and the outer surface of the tail part truncated cone there is a free compensating cavity bounded by the stop of the larger base of the truncated cone of a core head part and the lead jacket front base.
EFFECT: increased range of obstacle penetration with increasing accuracy of fire.
