FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: cartridge includes bullet, steel case with igniter capsule and powder propellant charge. Bullet has a cover, a lead jacket and a slug. Slug consists of head and shank portions. Bullet length is equal to (3.52-4.60)d; length of bullet slug is equal to (2.36-3.48)d, where d - bullet gauge diameter. Slug is made from hard alloy with tungsten carbide content of 85-96 wt %, which has HRA hardness of not less than 85.0 units, and ultimate bending strength of not less than 2000 MPa. Head portion of slug is cone-shaped and its length is (0.52-2.41)d; shank portion has the shape of cylinder or flattened cone, or cylinder and flattened cone, which are connected to each other. Smaller diameter of flattened cone is (0.69-0.86)d; larger diameter of flattened cone of shank portion is equal to diameter of cylinder and diameter of head portion of slug and is equal to (0.70-0.86)d. Length of shank cylinder is equal to (0.01-3.58)d, where d - bullet gauge diameter. Slug surface, either fully or partially, has roughness of not more than Ra 1.6, and weight of slug is equal to (0.34-0.62) of bullet weight. Cone-shaped head portion of slug has a contact platform, the diameter of which is equal to (0.018-0.25)d, where d - bullet gauge diameter.
