SUBSTANCE: staple cartridge for use with a surgical stapler equipped with an abutment, includes a plurality of staples, a plate and further comprises a compressible tissue thickness compensator. Each staple includes a base and at least two legs protruding from this base. The plate comprises a plate surface, a plurality of apertures and a plurality of guides. A plurality of apertures passes through the plate, with the staple legs at least partially extending into the apertures. The plate may crush in the staple bases direction between the initial non-operating position and the position of the full trigger, in which the staple legs are deformed by the surgical stapler abutment. A plurality of guides protrudes from the staple cartridge surface, each guide being configured so that the staple leg can slide into it. The compressible tissue thickness compensator is located above the plate surface. The guides pass in the tissue thickness compensator, when the plate is in its original non-operating position. In the second embodiment, a staple cartridge for use with a surgical stapler equipped with an abutment includes staple legs intended to slip in the apertures. The plate may lower in the staple bases direction between the initial non-operating position and the position of the full trigger, in which the staple legs are deformed by the surgical stapler abutment. A plurality of supports protrude from the staple cartridge surface, each support being configured so that the staple leg can slide into it. The end-piece for use with a surgical stapler includes an abutment, a support for a staple cartridge and a staple cartridge. The abutment moves from the original non-operating position to the trigger position. The support for the staple cartridge consists of a set of fixed supports for the staples protruding from it. The above staple cartridge contains a plurality of staples, each staple having a base and at least one leg protruding from the base, as well as staple bases arranged to be mounted on fixed staple supports. The fixed staple cartridge supports are designed to at least partially enter the aforementioned apertures when the above plate takes the trigger position. A plurality of guides protrudes from the said plate, each guide being configured so that the staple leg can slide into it.

EFFECT: compensation for various thicknesses of tissue clamped in different staples.
