The current depth coding unit, regardless of adjacent coding units, is divided into lower depth coding units or a segment is determined from the current depth coding unit and the current depth coding unit is decoded by performing the segment-based prediction. The current depth coding unit is decoded by either performing prediction in the omission mode based on a segment having a size equal to the size of the current depth coding unit or performing prediction in the prediction mode indicated by the prediction mode information obtained from the bitstream.

EFFECT: ensuring the determination of the optimal coding mode, taking into account the characteristics of the coding unit of different image sizes and increasing the efficiency of the coded data transmission.
