FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: there is phosphazene-containing epoxy resin, which is a mixture of diglycidyl ether of organic diphenol and epoxyphosphazene in an amount of 1-65 wt %, with a chlorine content of not more than 0.5 wt %. A method is also provided of producing the said resin by reacting a mixture of organic diphenol, phosphazene polyphenol and epichlorohydrin in the presence of a base. The mixture of organic diphenol and phosphazene polyphenol is produced by the reaction of a mixture of chlorocyclophosphazenes [NPCl2]n with diphenol in the presence of alkali metal carbonates, and diphenol is taken in an amount of, at least, three moles per basic NPCl2. Epoxidation of a mixture of organic diphenol and phosphazene polyphenol is carried out in the presence of a base with epichlorohydrin, which is taken in an amount not less than the total content of hydroxyl groups in the phosphazene component.
EFFECT: possibility to produce phosphazene-containing epoxy oligomers with a minimum content of chlorine, which can be used as a halogen-free flame retardant in protective coatings and as a part of heat-resistant structural materials.
