FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: on the surface of the metal pipe, a protective shell is applied, the material of which is a reinforced anisotropic plastic tow in the form of fibers. The fibers are preliminary impregnated with an epoxy binder and apply the tow to the surface of the metal pipe by its annular winding. The thickness of the protective shell is calculated by the mathematical expression given in the formula of the invention.

EFFECT: use of the proposed method allows to provide high efficiency, simplify the repair process by simplifying the procedure for manufacturing the coating material, and to provide high strength of the protective shell and reduce its material consumption.
