FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: procedure for application of polymer protecting coating on pipes consists in heating isolated section of pipe, in layer-by-layer spiral winding tape of adhesion thermo-plastic material reinforced with net and with double-layer thermo-shrinking tape of protective coating, in further rolling applied layers with roller and in heating surface of protecting coating to temperature of shrinkage. The isolated section of the pipe is heated with facilities of surface heating. Also, the pipe is rotated; surface of the tape of adhesion thermo-plastic material, facing isolated surface of the pipe, is thermally activated; upon winding, surface, facing the thermo-shrinking tape and glued surface of the thermo-shrinking tape are also thermally activated.

EFFECT: reduced power consumption, raised efficiency of insulation application and upgraded quality of coating.
