FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method consists in testing rope specimen by bending it in a specified section under appropriate rated static loading till full or partial destruction at specified temperature and humidity. If necessary, regular immersing of the tested rope specimen in the liquid is carried out. The device has drive drums that produce oscillatory motion and reciprocating motion of the rope specimen at a specified length, the changeable rollers of specified diameter which ensure bending of specimen by 90°, a load roller lying freely on the specimen and providing a specified tension of the specimen branches, clamps for fastening the specimen ends to the drum and a counter for accounting the number of bends. At that, the device is placed in thermal-moisture chamber to perform tests therein by changing and maintaining constant temperature and humidity during testing, and additionally equipped with removable tank for liquid to immerse tested rope specimen therein regulary.
EFFECT: carrying out tests at different temperatures and under the action of liquid aggressive media.
