FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: in the method for switching transmission gear in a vehicle with hybrid drive, in response to the requests for the upshifting and the restart of the engine, the availability of the starter/generator is determined. When it is available, the outcoming clutch is released, the torque of the starter/generator is increased, the oncoming clutch is pressed, the torque of the transmission is reduced and the engine is accelerated to the required rotation speed. Then, the engine is rotated with the torque applied from the starter/generator to the transmission, when the engine is not connected to the transmission input shaft, before requesting an upshift. If the starter/generator is unavailable, the outcoming clutch is released, the oncoming clutch is pressed and the drive release clutch is applied to the drive wheels. The application pressure of the release clutch is increased until the rotation speed of the torque converter impeller becomes less than the threshold speed.

EFFECT: torque is optimized when the upshift is activated.
