FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: sensitive block copolymer contains at least one block A, representing an externally-triggered copolymer, while the externally-triggered copolymer includes at least one monomer with a lower critical solution temperature and at least one monomer with a charged functional group. The externally-triggered copolymer block A is a dually triggered unit that can be triggered under the influence of temperature and ionic strength, and where the responsive block copolymer is micellized, becomes insoluble or turns into a gel at temperatures ranging from 28°C to 37°C and when the salt concentration is approximately 0.9 wt %. The responsive block copolymer additionally includes an externally-untriggered block copolymer B. The monomer with a lower critical solution temperature is selected from methacrylates, based on oligoethyleneoxide. The monomer with a charged functional group is selected from chloride [2-(acryloyloxy) ethyl] trimethylammonium chloride (HQUAT), [2-(methacryloyloxy) ethyl] trimethylammonium chloride, dimethylamino ethyl acrylate or dimethylamino ethyl methacrylate.
EFFECT: providing a block copolymer, which is responsive to changing the appropriate combination of temperature and ionic strength, suitable for use in personal care products.
