FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing the solution for extraction by stabilizing plutonium in the oxidation state (IV), and neptunium in the oxidation state (IV) or (V). Separation of the elements, if necessary, is carried out at the extraction stage in multi-stage extractors. Extraction of plutonium or plutonium and neptunium is carried out with tributyl phosphate in a diluent. When neptunium is stabilized in the oxidation state (IV), this state of neptunium is also maintained during the extraction and washing of the extract. The washing of the extract is carried out alternately with strong and weak nitric acid, and the reextraction of plutonium or of plutonium and neptunium is carried out with weak nitric acid in the presence of the reagent forming stable complexes with the reextracted elements.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of the extraction and separation of target components in one cycle with a possibility to receive both joint and individual products of plutonium and neptunium without using unstable exotic reagents in the technological process.
