FIELD: machine engineering.

SUBSTANCE: sharpening device comprises a frame, an electric motor with winding disc fixed thereto, a protective casing, a holder for fixing sharpened comb or knife of the cutting pair, a trough for suspension, and a compressor with injection line. There is a pressing hinged-lever mechanism in the form of a vertical stand fixed on the bed frame with a bracket with holes fixed thereon. The bracket is pivotally connected to the pressing lever, on which vertex said holder is pivotally mounted. The bracket and hold-down lever are tightened by extension spring to provide position of the pressing force application vector point with displacement relative to the center of sharpened comb or knife.

EFFECT: improved quality and efficiency of sharpening, reduced labour input and improved operating conditions of the sharpener.
